So, what grade does he really deserve? You could argue anywhere from a B to a B-plus depending on how much credit you give for circumstances — a first career start, on foreign soil, against a disguised-heavy defense. Gabriel didn’t win the game, but he didn’t lose it either, and that’s a key distinction for a young quarterback trying to earn trust. The real test will come in how he builds on this start, but for now, Browns fans have every reason to believe they saw something worth developing.
