For the past three months, the hospital elevator has remained non-functional, causing immense hardship to patients and their relatives. Elderly, disabled, and critically ill patients are being forced to endure extreme suffering due to the lack of basic infrastructure.

Recently, during late-night hours, a female patient had to be taken to the third floor for a sonography test. As the lift was shut and reportedly locked ahead of time, people were compelled to carry the patient on a stretcher via the stairs. This incident sparked public outrage and raised serious concerns about patient safety and dignity.

Beed District Hospital handles hundreds of patients daily, yet the prolonged closure of an essential facility like a lift highlights gross negligence and a failure of accountability. This situation has once again brought the healthcare administration under scrutiny, questioning whether there is any effective system in place for timely maintenance of critical hospital services.

District Civil Surgeon Dr. Satish Solunke has assured that the issue will be resolved at the earliest. However, citizens and activists are demanding immediate action and clear accountability, asking how long common patients must suffer to receive basic and respectful healthcare.
