Henry Mancini (who is also known for writing the Pink Panther theme song) composed "Moon River" for the 1961 film "Breakfast at Tiffany's", in which it is sung by Audrey Hepburn.

The lyrics were written by Johnny Mercer.

The song won both an Academy Award and a Grammy, and remains a famous hit to this very day!
