Nine-year-old girl shot during exchange of gunfire outside Cullen Park Apartment Homes

HOUSTON, TX – A nine-year-old girl was injured in a shooting that occurred shortly after midnight outside the Cullen Park Apartment Homes in the 4700 block of Wenda Street.
According to Houston Police, Southeast Patrol officers responded to the scene and learned that two groups had gotten into a confrontation outside the complex.
One group opened fire on the other. As the second group fled, a nine-year-old girl who was among them was struck once by gunfire. Members of that group returned fire as the original shooters ran and left in a dark-colored Jeep.
The girl was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
