PEAVEY 6505 1992 ORIGINAL VS 6505 MADE IN USA

Описание: I did this test for myself and hope you get some benefit out of me sharing it. I have quite a few 6505 amps and I wanted to do a shootout.

I tested a USA made 6505 with stock tubes versus a brand new 6505 1992 Original which is made in China.

I used 4 settings to compare the amps. The first one is a flat setting with all knobs at noon. Not a great sounding setting, but good for comparison's sake.

I decided to also test the regular new Chinese made 6505s versus both of them.

Conclusion: USA made 6505 has more lows and highs, which makes it sound more scooped and open versus the other two amps. That's fine because those amps have a lot of mids anyway. I prefer this amp over the other two. Maybe it's just this particular one sounds better? I have another USA made 6505, but I replaced the stock tubes with JJ power tubes so maybe that wouldn't be a fair comparison.

6505 Original and the regular Chinese made 6505 sound the same in this test. I didn't try other channels. I like the lead channel for metal and I don't use the 6505 for cleans or crunchy tones anyway.

Cab is Mesa 4x12 with V30s. 2 mics on the cab: 1 SM57 and 1 MD421. No EQ or post processing.
