Jan Huling's Bead Mosaic Technique

Описание: Jan Huling is one of the world's leading bead artists, with pieces in museums, galleries and upscale publications. Collectors treasure Jan's work and value her artistic vision. They also admire how Jan can make beauty with seed beads and found objects. Once Jan beads a found object, it evolves into a work of fine art whose past life gets erased. Metamorphosis and transformation are all part of Jan's daily routine.

In this short video, we watch Jan's bead mosaic technique in action. Carefully, slowly, she unstrings a strand of Czech size 11/0 seed beads and embeds them into a thin line of glue. We also get a glimpse of Jan's beading studio, which she describes as "controlled chaos."

Rather than worrying about keeping her studio hyper-clean, Jan enjoys the mild disorder because it gives her ideas. When two things end up next to one another on her table, she says, a new project might be born.
