Описание: Boulder police Cmdr. Kerry Yamaguchi said on Monday that a police officer was among those killed during a shooting at a supermarket and that a suspect was in custody. The shooting took place at the King Soopers store in Boulder.

Yamaguchi confirmed the suspect was getting medical treatment and there was no further threat to the public, but did not give more details on the shooting or how many people were killed.

Investigators know how many people died, but their families were still being notified so the number of victims wasn't being released yet, Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said.

The police commander added they were still investigating and didn't have details on a motive for the shooting.

Prior to the news conference, police had told people to shelter in place amid a report of an "armed, dangerous individual" about five kilometres away, but told media later it was not related to the shooting.
