N259UP Tour - November 9th, 2024

Описание: Last year, I attended an event at RDU. I don't remember exactly what it was about, but the main attraction was an F/A-18. During this event, we were allowed to look around the nearby MD-11 belonging to UPS, and were even let inside.

The F/A-18 would later suffer some mechanical issues, and could not depart, which is why I never uploaded this video. The tour of the MD-11 was going to be a short bit at the end of the video for airliner nerds like me, but yesterday I realized that the MD-11 I toured was the one that would tragically crash just less than a year later, on November 4th, 2025.

It was haunting to realize I'd walked in the very aircraft from all of the harrowing videos I'd seen. At first, I didn't know what to do with these videos; I don't want this video to seem like I am trying to get internet points for posting this. I have immense respect for the crew, who I believe did everything they possibly could've, and who fought to the very end. My deepest condolences are with the families and friends of everyone involved in this tragic incident.

I am posting these videos and pictures to remember this amazing aircraft and the good that it and all of its crews have done in connecting the world.
