Acclaimed as one of the most brilliant writers in his time, Kipling has since been criticized for his prejudices and imperialistic views. He remains a controversial figure today; however, the adventures of Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, and Shere Khan have since eclipsed Kipling's reputation.
