Charity Shop Wins, Plymouth Plans & Fish and Chips by the Sea | Daily Vlog | Sat 17th January (2026)

The charity shop gods were truly smiling on me today. I struck gold at the Children’s Hospice South West shop with an unusual piece of clothing I thought was a skirt… but turned out to be trousers (plus three other lovely bits!).

Then I hopped on the train to Plymouth and walked from the station to the continental ferry dock so I know exactly where I’m going for my trip in March. I’d planned to visit the aquarium too, but I ran out of time.

Back in Totnes, I caught the bus to Dartmouth and… yes, more charity shop luck. I came home with a new wallet and a jumper, then took the ferry over to Kingswear to meet Glenn. We finished the day in Paignton with fish and chips by the sea. A full day, but such a good one.

Boat Prep, Pub Catch-Ups & A Cosy Afternoon In | Daily Vlog | Sun 18th January (2026)
Glenn had some exciting news today: he’s moving the boat from Brixham to Kingswear tomorrow, so we spent the morning getting everything ready. After that, we met friends for a drink in a pub in Babbacombe, which was really lovely. Back at the flat, the grey weather made it the perfect afternoon for a film, a cup of tea, and a few chocolate biscuits. Sometimes that’s all you need.
