Описание: NOTE: Several people have commented on this video stating that I am in error by calling Kelly Butte the rockpile, as that was the case for the Rocky Butte Jail. While yes, Rocky Butte ultimately also had that name as well, I can assure you, decades before that jail ever existed Kelly Butte was known as the rockpile. I first visited Kelly Butte back in the summer of 2017 after reading an article about it's history. It's a place I've passed hundreds of times without a second glance... until now. This nondescript butte, with an unmarked entryway few even know how to find, was initially used to construct a prison wherein the prisoners worked laboriously chilling away rock from the hillside to gravel the city of Portland's streets. But that's only the beginning behind the history of this place. You'll need to watch the rest of this video to hear about that.
But in addition to this forgotten places wild history, even today there's something very strange about this butte. And I'm not the only person to think so. After my first visit I found little troubling about the place, but over the course of successive visits I find myself more and more weary of visiting this place and yet captivated at the same time. Therefore, this film not only chronicles the story of Kelly Butte, but it also chronicles my own personal experience visiting the place. And even now I cannot say exactly what's going on there, but it's definitely not of the norm.
