Russian strategic bombers fly over Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean

Описание: Two Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers performed an eight-hour scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean, Russia's defence ministry said on Thursday (August 10).

The nuclear-capable supersonic aircraft - nicknamed "White Swans" by Russian flyers and given the NATO reporting name "Blackjacks" - were escorted by SU-35C fighter jets, according to footage released by the ministry.

The flight was undertaken in accordance with international regulations, Russian military officials said.

The defence ministry said Russian strategic aircraft routinely perform similar flights over the waters of the Arctic, Northern Atlantic, Black and Baltic seas, as well as the Pacific Ocean.
