On the corner of East 80th Street and South Drexel Avenue in the city's Grand Crossing neighborhood, a family in a second-floor apartment lives in fear.
"When I tell you my anxiety is high right now, I’m ready to pack up and just leave everything," said Asya, the tenant of that second-floor apartment. "Rat droppings. It's all over the place ... We are too afraid to cook in here because of everything that's going on."
Asya, her fiancé and two young kids have lived in the apartment for three years. Over the last year and a half, the rodent problem has gotten out of control.
WGN's Dana Rebik reports on the story.
