LNER K4 Class 2-6-0 61994 The Great Marquess, working '1Z52 The Fellsman, from Lancaster-Carlisle on Wed 29th August 2012.
Once again I have returned to film The Fellsman from Lancaster-Carlisle
The Fellsman which runs every wednesday till 29th Aug travels via the scenic Settle and Carlisle line, the most famous railway in the whole of the UK. The train is steam hauled throughout and the locomotive is chosen from the historic pool of engines based at Carnforth including including: LMS Royal Scot 46115 'Scots Guardsman' - LMS Black 5 45305' - LMS Stanier 8f 48151.
Todays Fellman railtour to Carlisle was run using Carnforths LNER K4 Class 2-6-0 number 61994 The Great Marquess.
Here are the clips i got on the day.
|Firstly we see 61994 arriving into Hellifield to take on water before she was to join the S&C Towards Appleby. The departure from Hellifield was 2 minuites late due to waiting for a clear path due to a late running freight train.
|While at Hellifield there were 2 class 47s waiting in the loop on a move from Carnforth-York. After 61994 had left with the Fellsman for Carlisle the 2 class 47s left for York. The driver incharge of the LE move to York was the well known west coast driver Mike Kelly, who while at Hellifield I managed to have a chat with before he was due to leave for York.
|Finaly we see 61994 arriving back into Preston to set down passengers before departing for Lancaster. (We had trouble with station staff butting in and 2 old sods who were complaining at me saying I was in their way when I was there first).
