In this Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park road trip vlog, we share our complete 8-day camping itinerary through two of the most iconic U.S. national parks. This trip took place in July 2025, and even though it’s a late upload, it’s packed with travel inspiration, wildlife sightings, hikes, and campground life.
We camped, explored Jackson Hole, hiked famous trails, saw geysers erupt, and spotted incredible wildlife including moose, bison, foxes, and a bald eagle.
Day 1: We traveled to Grand Teton National Park, set up camp at Colter Bay Campground (primitive campsite) where we stayed for two nights. We spent the evening hiking around Jackson Lake and had dinner at John Colter’s Ranch House.
Day 2: We started the day at Snake River Overlook, then headed into Jackson Hole, Wyoming for shopping. We ate at Jackson Drug, grabbed coffee from Cowboy Coffee, and spent time at the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. On our way back to camp, we stopped at Mormon Row for photos.
Day 3: We watched sunrise at Schwabacher Landing, then returned to camp for breakfast before packing up and moving from our primitive campsite to a full hook-up campsite at Colter Bay. Later, we went swimming in Jackson Lake.
Day 4: We took a boat ride across Jenny Lake and hiked to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, one of the most popular hikes in Grand Teton National Park.
Day 5: We headed back to Jackson Hole and ate at The Silver Dollar Bar & Grill, returned to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, then spent the evening swimming in Jackson Lake where my stepdad famously got a leech on his leg 😅.
Day 6: We packed up the camper and headed to Yellowstone National Park, staying at Madison Campground. We drove Firehole Canyon Road, walked the Fountain Paint Pots Trail, and hiked the Grand Prismatic Overlook Trail all the way to Fairy Falls.
Day 7: We returned to Midway Geyser Basin to see Grand Prismatic Spring up close, then explored Black Sand Basin and Upper Geyser Basin, where we watched Old Faithful erupt. We had lunch at the Old Faithful Inn, sat on the balcony to watch another eruption, then drove Fountain Flat Drive and walked the Sentinel Meadows Trail. We ended the day at Norris Geyser Basin, Artists Paint Pots, and stopped at Gibbon Falls before heading back to camp.
Day 8: We explored Mammoth Hot Springs, ate at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel Terrace Grill, walked around Fort Yellowstone, and visited the Fort Yellowstone Cemetery. We then headed into Montana, stopping at the Roosevelt Arch, grabbing a beer in Gardiner, and visiting the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, including Calcite Springs Overlook, Tower Fall Scenic Overlook, and Artist Point before returning to camp to walk along the river.
This vlog is perfect if you’re planning a Grand Tetons and Yellowstone itinerary, looking for camping and road trip inspiration, or love national park travel vlogs and wildlife spotting.
