The Special Investigating Unit is conducting a surprise investigation in the Makana municipality.
This comes after President President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised the SIU to investigate allegations of maladministration involving seven tenders in the municipality.
The probe will include the electrification of the greater Makana and surrounding areas and the 11KV Line Project.
