I’m OBSESSED with this mountain climbing survival game 🏔️

Описание: I wanted to make a quick video about a demo I’ve been obsessed with.

This is an indie game called Cairn from developer The Game Bakers. It’s a unique survival game where you play as a climber scaling some pretty treacherous cliffs and mountainsides. There’s a couple things that are really unique about this game

First, you control each of the character’s limbs independently as you traverse the mountainside. This adds an element of coordination and challenge to the game that reminds me of the old school flash game QWOP, however it’s much more elegantly done here.
This game is really atmospheric, and there’s surprisingly little music. Instead, you’ll be focused on the main character’s breathing which indicates how close they are to needing a rest. The result is this immediate closeness with the main character, Aava, where you can feel just how difficult the climb is through her voice acting.
Because there’s little music and a constant concentration on placing your feet and hands, this game can trigger a kind of flow state where you feel constantly immersed in the climb. It can feel almost meditative.

Cairn has a demo on steam so I definitely recommend checking it out, and it’s planned to release this year.
