This has got to be THE best C drama I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot!
The story has a lot of similarities to my favorite manga Yona of the Dawn and the acting, effects, the fight choreography, I mean everything is literally PERFECT. The way Ashile Sun is always looking out for Changge who's always getting into trouble, even when it goes against the benefit of his country/military is just like, wow that dedication to keep her safe/alive!

It's about half way over and I'm just dying for these two to get together and lord help me if there's not a happy ending T_T

(If you are confused by the mix of her/him for Changge/Shishi it's because the Chinese word for her/him is pronounced the same so you can only tell by context if someone is referring to a male or female, and in the show she's "disguised" as a guy so picking which pronoun to use is a bit tricky)

The year is 626 C.E, and the realm and its political center Chang’an, are shaken to its core by the Xuanwu Gate Incident, a successful palace coup to take charge of the Tang Dynasty. A scheming prince leads the bloody coup and kills the family of Li Chang Ge during the raid, although she manages to escape. Now the prince has placed himself on the Imperial throne, and rules as Emperor Tai Zong.
Li Chang Ge has her mind firmly set on revenge – and musters a powerful army intent on overthrowing the new Emperor.
But her plans are thrown into disarray when she suffers an unexpected defeat against the armies of the Eastern Turkic Khaganate. The victorious General, Ashi Na Sun, decides to keep her in his service, making her his military strategist as he looks to pursue his own military goals. The duo forms a formidable military partnership. And over time, she finds herself falling for her captor – as he also starts developing feelings for her.
