“Kyoto City Zoo” is an urban zoo located in Okazaki Park, 30 minutes by bus from Kyoto Station. The historic zoo opened in 1903 and reopened in September 2015. The display method has been greatly changed so that the animals can be felt closer, and the number of visitors has increased significantly. Currently, about 140 types and 600 animals are on display, and gorillas and giraffes that are displayed in a more natural form are gaining popularity.
