The vehicle was developed by the Design Bureau of the Engineering Committee of the Ground Forces under the leadership of A.F. Kravtsev in March-August 1949. The project envisioned a driver in the combat compartment, a 100-mm gun with an automatic loader, and a coaxial heavy machine gun. The vehicle was to be powered by a 12-cylinder opposed diesel turbo engine. The vehicle was to have ski-like supports for its support wheels. Work on the machine did not go beyond the preliminary design and was discontinued in December 1949.
