Following the university's 15th president Dr. Santa J. Ono stepping down in May 2025 for an opportunity at the University of Florida, Domenico Grasso, civil and environmental engineering professor, has been serving as the interim president while the search went on.
Ono replaced University of Michigan's 14th president Mark Schlissel in July 2022 after he was fired when an anonymous complaint was filed regarding an inappropriate relationship with a university employee.
The university posted to their X account on Sunday to announce a special meeting of The University of Michigan Board of Regents Monday at 1 p.m. to announce their pick.
