The Stari Most, 'old bridge', is a symbol for the city of Mostar in the Herzegovina region in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Built in the 16th century, the bridge is a landmark or the entire country. Mostar is even named after the 'Mostari', bridge keepers in medieval times.
The bridge is not only known as a symbol for the city, or as a fine example of Islamic architecture from that time. It's also known for its divers. The earliest record of someone diving from the bridge is from 1664. The Mostar diving club organise a yearly diving competition, but the divers are there every day, from early morning until late evening.
Ermin Sarić is one of the members of the Mostar diving club. He has been diving since he was 15 years old, and spends every day on the bridge, diving and collecting money from tourists.
