Today in the shop we have a 2004 Ford escape, the abs light is on along with the 4wd light flashing.
Drivability issues reported, brake pedal has a surging growling clunking feeling while coming to a stop almost as if its resisting the operator followed by the abs light along with increased stopping distance, also notices a fluctuation in the speedometer, all under normal driving conditions.
These are all ABS related conditions, a fault causing a false activation. The speedometer that’s another indication we have a wheel speed feedback issue.
most common cause is a cracked ABS tone ring, save big following the steps i demonstrate
