Sylvester Stallone returned to the City of Philadelphia on Sunday, December 3, 2023 for the city's inaugural 'ROCKY DAY!' On 12/3/23, the City of Philadelphia officially proclaimed December 3rd 'ROCKY DAY.' The first 'ROCKY' film opened in the U.S. on December 3, 1976.
Sylvester Stallone gave an incredible speech to commemorate the occasion, and he was presented with a key to the City of Philadelphia from a city representative.
My kids and my wife and I had the great honor of being VIPs for this entire event! We were able to view the ceremony from the VIP viewing area, and then we met Sylvester Stallone himself at The Rocky Statue! It was a dream come true!
The Sly Stallone Shop then had its official Grand Opening, as Mr. Stallone cut the ribbon for the occasion.
My Dad filmed the entire ceremony from the top of The Rocky Steps - I am including the full video he took of the ceremony, unedited and as-is! It was an amazing day! KEEP PUNCHING!
