First Light: Opening New Eyes on the Universe

Each telescope we build or satellite we launch is far more than just another measurement device; it is a unique new eye that opens to a universe never seen before. For astronomers, the word “light” takes on a larger meaning to include all the radiation arriving from objects that are utterly invisible to the human eye. And each “first light” changes forever how we see ourselves.

DASER is a monthly discussion forum on art and science projects in the national capital region. DASER strives to provide the public with a snapshot of the cultural environment of the region and to foster community and discussion around the intersection of disciplines.
