Ukraine reinforced its frontline trenches with underground shelters designed to provide the servicemen with additional protection and comfort. The shelters are equipped with six beds, a wood stove and a shelf for weapons and ammunition. “The advantage of this construction is that the personnel is in safer conditions, because in case of artillery shelling, nothing will happen to this metal barrel,” said National Guard of Ukraine serviceman who uses call-sign ‘Dallas’. The shelters were designed by Ukraine’s metallurgical company Metinvest in cooperation with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
