Veterans are often portrayed as villains by members of civil society. Davorka Turk from the Centre for Nonviolent Action urges post-conflict societies to change their perspective on veterans and to actively involve them in dealing with the past and peacebuilding activities in order to allow individual and collective healing.
The interview was recorded during the kick-off workshop of the Global Learning Hub for Transitional Justice and Reconciliation in August 2022. The Hub is a network of organisations from Germany and across the world, initiated by the Berghof Foundation and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
