More than sixty thousand newly recruited public service employees in the Ministries of Education and Health will soon undergo public service training at the National Institute of Public Administration -NIPA.
The training programme is intended to curb audit queries, prevent leaks of confidential information and reduce the misuse of public property.
NIPA Executive Director JACOB MALUNGO says the training is also expected to improve service delivery across both the public and private sectors.
The Institute will begin by inducting one thousand six hundred newly recruited Ministry of Health personnel from Lusaka Province before rolling out the programme to the rest of the country.
Prof. MALUNGO says preparations are underway to train all head teachers, deputy head teachers and senior teachers, as well as heads of departments.
In an interview with ZNBC News, Prof. MALUNGO explained that NIPA plans to train all personnel recruited from 2021 to date as part of efforts to improve performance within the public service.
He added that two thousand personnel were inducted in 2025, including two hundred and seventy-four pre-deployment trainees and four hundred police service in-charges.
