Pharmacogenomics is the study of how genetic factors can impact drug choice and/or drug dose. There is increasing evidence for the utility of pharmacogenomics in clinical practice to reduce adverse drug reactions and/or improve drug efficacy.
This video provides an overview of where we are in implementing pharmacogenetic testing in the NHS, and why it is important for all healthcare professionals to be aware of these developments. We also contrast what is happening in the NHS with recent developments in Spain.
