Raging Fighter (Story, Hardest) [GB] - Real Time Longplay (No death)

Описание: This is a, no commentary, Longplay of Raging Fighter for Game Boy, released in 1993. This walkthrough shows the Story mode played with Ruoh on max difficulty (level 4). Note that in Story mode you don't choose the fighter, but instead you start with Tao, then Aska and finally Ruoh. So I let Tao and Aska lose the battle, to start story mode with Ruoh. Of course there is no story, you just have to defend yourself through a series of fights (5 in total). Note that you can't regain health during battles, which makes Story mode more challenging.

The playable characters are Tao, vandal, Aska, Bulk, Miyabi, Ruoh and Shades. The final battle is always with Guilga who can take the form of the current fighter. There are many similarities (and even moves) with Street Fighter, Ruoh has similar abilities to Ruy/Ken, Shades to Guile, Miyabi to Chun-Li etc. Pitty there are no unlockable characters or different endings to enhance replayability. Main screen has 4 options, 1Player, versus, Story and Option. 1Player mode allows for Practice and Tournament modes, Versus mode to play with a friend and Story to battle through a series of fighters without regaining health. Option has Trigger Type for controls, difficulty, Timer on/off and Sound Test. It also stores the score point, floor and rank, but is erased after switching off the game.

Regarding the game itself, graphics are well made with characters performing their moves quite smoothly. Music and sound effects are also nice, definitely above average. Controls are generally responsive but fighters seem to move a little slow, probably due to game boy limitations. Hit detection is acceptable, although sometimes kick and punches touch fighters without damaging them. On max difficulty the game becomes quite challenging, since opponents have very fast defense and attack mechanisms and the player you control is very easy to fall down (a single puch is enough). This creates an unfair disadvantage that might break your nerves. Of course there are some cheap strategies to beat some enemies, which I show in this video.

In short, Raging Fighter is a decent fighting title worth spending some time. The 7 fighters might not be a lot, but each has its own moves and styles. No death run (death = lose a fight with Ruoh).
