The Siege of Harfleur took place from August 18 to September 22, 1415, during the Hundred Years' War, as part of King Henry V of England’s campaign in France. Seeking a foothold in Normandy, Henry launched a siege against the French port town of Harfleur, which was well-fortified and defended. After over a month of bombardment and fighting, combined with outbreaks of dysentery among the English troops, the town finally surrendered. Though victorious, the siege delayed Henry’s campaign and severely weakened his army.
