'You can't count on Arab states' | One on One with Jordan's former foreign minister Marwan Muasher

Muasher rubbishes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s idea of Arab states accepting Israel amid ongoing tensions in the region.

Muasher, who is now the Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment Middle East Program for International Peace, also claims that the "Zionist project" is failing to fulfil its promise of a democratic and peaceful Jewish state and that Israel is "increasingly undemocratic."

The former Jordanian official also warns that Israel's ongoing ethnic cleansing activities in Area C of the occupied West Bank could lead to the mass exodus of Palestinians into the Hashemite Kingdom, which challenges the validity of the peace treaty with Israel.

"It is very, very difficult, if not impossible, to maintain the same relationship short of rescinding the treaty."
