The Eifelsteig is a long distance trail in West Germany.
It starts in Kornelimünster (Aachen) and runs up to Trier, spanning 313 km.
We did the first 5 stages in November 2024 and hiked the 5 next ones in January 2025.
5 days of hiking in the snow, with freezing temperatures on icy paths. Loved it ...
This video covers the 10th stage. Starting in Daun back to Gerolstein (for practical reasons we walked the opposite direction). The highlights of this stage are the Nerother kopf (with its ruines) and the Dietzenley viewpoint and tower. The final descent to Gerolstein is quite spectacular and can be a little tricky if do not stay on the marked paths.
