Their musical success of upbeat surf sound and perfect harmonies won the hearts the world over. But behind the feel-good tunes, The Beach Boys were going through all kinds of hell - from drugs to legal spats, and deaths of key band members.

On their 50th anniversary, co-founder Brian Wilson reflected on his personal struggles that inadvertently made him the creative genius he became known for.

Brian died on June 12, 2025 at the age of 82.
