Hi so I'm probably going to update Antiquary benchmarks for the setups I covered before the December patch.
Where have I been?
I went on a 3-week vacation to visit family for the first time in a couple years, and I only had my laptop so no benchmarking for me—especially not Antiquary. :D
I decided to wait until this January balance patch to get back around to benchmarks.
For variants I actually expect people to PLAY if they like Antiquary (for Power that's Spear, Rifle, Staff, and Unload; for Condition that's Spear, Scepter/Dagger, and Dagger/Dagger) I will do a lot of golem pulls to get the average, then report the average and PRESENT the average as the benchmark video on the golem (not the highest parse on the golem), or I might do both.
I'm showing the max here because I don't expect people to play this setup. :D
Relevant nerfs:
Some Strike damage has been nerfed (Combat High trait was hit, and the Strike damage of Forged Surfer Dash's bomb schedule was nerfed).
We lost a good deal of burning which is significant since it's a strong base condition and this build applied a lot of it.
Meticulous Custodian no longer grants an extra charge of the buffs from Metal Legion Guitar (was 4, now 3), Holo-Dancer Decoy (was 2, now 1), Chak Shield (was 4, now 3).
Metal Legion Guitar, which grants access to Stealth Attacks, no longer reduces the cooldown between those Stealth Attacks. What this means is that you now need 800ms of filler in between each Stealth Attack, which is not feasible with most skills (e.g. Rifle can do it because Three Round burst is over 800ms long, but everything else now wants TWO filler skills in between Stealth Attacks). This is bad because it makes the rotations tricker and also puts more strain on Initiative.
To get around the Metal Legion Guitar change (and the move from the nerfed Meticulous Custodian for Power Antiquary to the Exhilarating Ephemera trait's damage modifier), Seisan (Thief benchmarker and SC's Thief expert) encouraged me to try a new Axe combo.
We used to do [ Stealth Attack , Axe 2, Stealth Attack, Axe 3] which was a VERY high DPS combo, but now we can't do that because this consumes 2 Guitar Stealth Attacks, and we only have 3, and Axe 2 is only 600ms so we'd need another filler skill and we just don't have that.
Now we do [Axe 2, Stealth Attack, Axe 3]. This is lower DPS but it's actually sustainable, and it burns through the Guitar Stealth Attack charges quickly.
This setup is a gamble. You can't do the high DPS Guitar combo without, ya know, RNG for the Guitar. You can't chain [Axe 2, Axe 3, Filler, Axe 3] because it's INSANELY Initiative hungry and not even Antiquary has enough Initiative to cover that (especially after the nerfs to Meticulous Custodian, which could supply more Initiative via Chak Shield or Holo-Dancer Decoy + Canach Coins). You don't want to resort to slower Initiative consumption (e.g. [Axe 2, two autos, Axe 3]) because that's just worse DPS than swapping over to Spear.
So you open on Axe, hope you get something good, and bail out to Spear if RNG is unkind to you.
Spear does not care what RNG it gets, it can perform a rotation no matter what, so that's why it's our second weapon pick.
