Hathras gang rape horror: protests in Mumbai take place over brutal incident; children join in too

Описание: The Hathras gang rape horror has shaken up the nation and has sparked outrage. The police brutality that has been meted out to the victim and her family by the Uttar Pradesh Police, only further adds to this angst.

A silent protest was witnessed today in Mumbai’s Bandra area, wherein the protestors only had candles and placards in their hands and unlike other protests weren’t seen to be shouting slogans. The protest included children as well as adults. The intent of the protest was to stop the brutality that is meted out to the minority community and especially the Dalits.

The girl was brutally gang-raped by four men and strangulated and after succumbing to injuries, her body was cremated forcefully by the police, while the family was barred any entry into the field where she was cremated.
