John Hudson has been my friend for nine years, and he has been featured on SBSK many times. He is diagnosed with epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare and extremely painful condition that causes his skin to be covered in open wounds. Recently, John’s health has declined rapidly. He has experienced sepsis, seizures, fractured bones, and worsening EB symptoms. Living with constant, unbearable pain, John now speaks openly about his own mortality and what it means to face a deadly disease. His biggest hope as his health worsens is to leave a lasting impact on the world and create a better future for others living with EB. His greatest wish is that children born with this condition will one day never have to experience the same pain he has endured. As his body deteriorates, John is focused on the impact he leaves behind. He hopes others will donate to the EB Research Partnership in his honor so future children with EB may experience relief, healing, and hope.
