With a big crown, there’s also a chance it hangs up and becomes a stuck tree
And dead branches can act like a spring when the falling tree hits them, shooting wood back toward the trunk

So the plan is to keep it simple and controlled: I aim the face cut into the only available gap, use a small wedge to prevent sitting back, and commit cleanly without forcing extra power unless it’s needed.

Lesson: Dead branches and crown contact can turn a “normal” felling into a surprise. Treat them like loaded springs, keep your escape clear, and never relax just because the drop looks easy.
