In alchemy, Nigredo is the blackening — the stage where identity, memory, and meaning are stripped away by steady fire. What remains is not the self, but the material from which transformation becomes possible.

The voice in Nigredo is calm because nothing is being resisted.
The fire is not an enemy.
It is a function.

Musically, the song is slow, austere, and ritualistic. Vocals enter late and leave early, allowing the furnace to work before language appears and after it disappears. Instrumental surges act as pressure, not release. Silence is part of the composition.

Nigredo begins the Mythic Ascension chapter by ending autobiography completely.
No history survives this stage.
