After going to Mariposa and filming the city trash, the driver told me that there is one other rear loader route in the valley. Knowing that there are two Norcal Leaches in the yard, I went back a week later and found the driver in "Golden Gate". I'm sure if Golden Gate could talk, it would have lots of stories to tell, whether doing the late night Chinatown run or doing tight residential streets, this truck has been through a lot. Today, Golden Gate finds itself doing the valley foothills in Mariposa. This is one of the few areas of the county that residents have the option of carted service versus the 32 manual bins, or in one case, a 35 WMX Cascade. Since very few residents have carted service, a majority of the carts and replacement carts are old ex North Bay Corp recycle carts. I did see one gray residual Recology EVRII on route, but it was not out.
