Your Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE gives you two navigation options — Gesture Navigation and the Classic 3-Button Navigation Bar (which includes the Back, Home, and Recents buttons). If you prefer using the traditional Back button for easier navigation, you can quickly enable it from the settings. Follow the step-by-step guide below.
⮕ Step 1: Open the Settings App
From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon (gear symbol).
Scroll down and select Display from the list.
⮕ Step 2: Go to Navigation Bar Settings
Inside the Display menu, scroll down until you find Navigation Bar.
Tap Navigation Bar to open the navigation options.
⮕ Step 3: Choose Button Navigation
Under Navigation Type, you will see two options:
Swipe Gestures – Use swipes from the bottom edges of the screen to navigate.
Buttons – Display the traditional Back, Home, and Recents buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Select Buttons to activate the navigation bar with the Back button visible.
✅ Once enabled, the Back button will appear on the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
⮕ Step 4: Adjust Button Order (Optional)
In the same Navigation Bar menu, look for Button Order.
Choose your preferred layout:
Back – Home – Recents (default layout).
Recents – Home – Back (reversed layout).
The navigation bar will instantly update to reflect your selection.
⮕ Step 5: Test the Back Button
Open any app or settings page.
Tap the Back button to confirm it’s working properly.
The Back button will return you to the previous screen or close an active app.
⮕ Step 6: Optional – Customize Gesture Hints (If You Prefer Gestures Later)
If you ever want to try gesture navigation but keep hints visible:
Go back to Settings → Display → Navigation Bar.
Under Swipe Gestures, toggle Gesture Hints ON or OFF to control the guide bar at the bottom of the screen.
⮕ Step 7: Exit Settings and Enjoy the Back Button
After setting up your preferred navigation style, simply press the Home button to exit Settings.
Your tablet will now use the classic Back button navigation, making it easier and more intuitive to control.
By following these steps, you can easily enable and customize the Back button on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE, bringing back the traditional and familiar 3-button navigation experience for smoother multitasking and control.
