How MCC Allots Seats: NEET PG 2026 Seat Processing Explained

Описание: Two candidates with almost the same rank can land in very different seats. Why? Your rank decides when your turn comes. Your choice list decides where you land. In Part 2 of Must Knows of Choice Filling, we open up MCC's seat processing and watch it work, one candidate at a time.

In this video:
The allotment rule: rank order, one candidate at a time, the highest choice on your list that still has a seat for you
Why Open seats are checked first, and why your category is a second chance, not a ceiling
A simple walk-through: 6 seats, 7 candidates, Rank 101 to 107
Why a reserved seat can stay empty in Rounds 1 and 2
A real seat: GMC Kozhikode, MD General Medicine, All India Round 1, 2025, and who got all 10 seats
What the closing ranks really tell you: Open 129, OBC 195, EWS 1,522, SC 7,604, ST 12,969
AIR 132 (OBC): why the computer never skips down your list to find you an Open seat

Key takeaway: you are always considered for Open first, so don't skip a college thinking "I won't get Open". Compare both closing ranks, Open and your own category, and remember that the order of your list decides where you land.
