According to Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a software error may cause the rearview camera image to freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

⚠️ The Risk

If the rearview camera image freezes or fails to display:

The driver may not see what is behind the vehicle

This increases the risk of backing into another vehicle, object, or a pedestrian

These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111 (Rear Visibility).
