Revolver's next to last song of that January night of 1983. Bob used to really enjoy it when people would come up to him and talk details in the equipment and such. He was amazed at how many people noticed some of the smallest details that he had put into the gear or what details they noticed missing. That was long before having a computer regurgitate Beatle info. Most of the interested musicians in the audience were just in shock seeing vintage gear that they had previously just heard stories about. For Bob, his acquisition of the proper gear, based on his years and years of personal research, was a great part of the fun and actually using it for it's intended purpose just felt like the right thing to do. Of course he had to add the same nicks and scratches like the ones he saw in clear photos. It was akin to Bob's childhood days of detailing the max out of model cars and such... blued pipes, worn tires, etc. etc.... going to the nines just for the love of it. That's the way Bob tackled everything. Nowadays, you can go on line and with the swipe of a credit card, outfit an entire Beatle show from whatever era you wish. Different horses for different courses, I suppose. One thing that really would get under Bob's skin was if anyone referred to his audiences as ####### idiots when it came to having the ability to recognize the fact that it's bassist was not playing left-handed or the band not using the proper stage gear... especially if it came from any of his bookend band members. You just didn't go there with Bob on that one. A new Twin-Reverb, re-grilled with VOX grill cloth, does not a 1960's AC-30 make... Mr. B.
