Legacy on the tide is a tribute song of the Battle of Jutland one of the largest naval battles in the modern age and the last time battleship on battleship ruled the waves. This titanic clash took part in the North Sea where the High Seas Fleet and Grand Fleet clashed leading to multiple ships on both sides being lost however despite claiming victory the Grand Fleet wasn't broken. This battle was as decisive as the 1905 Battle of Tsushima but for different reasons. Whereas that battle was to end the war for Japan the Battle of Jutland was decisive in maintaining the blockade that would go on to play a role in bringing Entente victory by stopping food imports reaching Germany.

Lyrics:
Opening:
The North Sea wakes in mist and flame,
Ships of war in deadly game,
Iron giants on the waves,
Marching boldly to their graves.
Signals crackle through the haze,
Admirals set the world ablaze.
Verse 1:
From Wilhelmshaven the High Seas sail,
Scheer’s command, a cunning trail,
Hipper lures the British fleet,
Into a trap, where iron and fire meet.
Submarines wait in silent lines,
Mines and torpedoes set to entwine.
Beatty steers with eyes wide and keen,
Through a sea of smoke, where none have been.
Verse 2:
The sun dips low, the horizon bleeds,
Cannons roar, fulfilling needs.
Two fleets collide in thunder and mist,
Men and steel in deadly twist.
Jellicoe maneuvers with steadfast hand,
To keep the Germans from their land.
Victory claimed, yet loss runs deep,
Ships sink slowly into the deep.
Pre-Chorus:
Signals lost, chaos reigns,
Smoke and fire, blood and chains.
History watches in silent dread,
The living dance with the dying dead.
Chorus:
Steel and sea, in fury’s song,
Battle rages, right and wrong.
Jutland cries with cannon’s roar,
Echoes of men who see no more.
Steel and sea, night turns to dawn,
Legacy of the brave lives on.
Through fire and smoke, the fleets collide,
History written on the tide.
Verse 3:
Two dozen British dreadnoughts align,
Against sixteen of Germany’s line.
Armored cruisers, light and fleet,
Destroyers guard, their duty complete.
Airships drift in morning haze,
Watching the battle in rigid gaze.
Torpedoes hiss, shells ignite,
Men brace themselves for endless fight.
Verse 4:
Night falls dark, the battles pause,
Scheer slips through with silent cause.
Both sides claim the bloody field,
Yet only the Grand Fleet can shield.
The Atlantic gates forever barred,
The German surface fleet marred.
Though fourteen British ships went down,
The Crown still wears its naval crown.
Pre-Chorus:
Signals lost, chaos reigns,
Smoke and fire, blood and chains.
History watches in silent dread,
The living dance with the dying dead.
Chorus:
Steel and sea, in fury’s song,
Battle rages, right and wrong.
Jutland cries with cannon’s roar,
Echoes of men who see no more.
Steel and sea, night turns to dawn,
Legacy of the brave lives on.
Through fire and smoke, the fleets collide,
History written on the tide.
Outro:
The North Sea calms, the guns fall mute,
Ships lie broken, the sea’s tribute.
Names etched in steel, hearts remain,
In memory’s tide, in sorrow and pain.
The battle’s end, yet story survives,
Through the echoes of nine thousand lives.
Steel and sea, forever entwined,
Jutland remembered, across all time.
