Poached Eggs Recipe:
This is an easy, low-stress way to poach eggs without vinegar. The sieve does most of the work, so the egg stays neat and together.
What You Need:
Eggs
Water
Equipment:
Small pot
Fine-mesh sieve
Small bowl
Spoon
Slotted spoon (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1. Heat the Water
Fill a small pot with a few inches of water. Bring it to a boil, then turn the heat off.
Step 2. Prep the Egg
Crack the egg on a flat surface. Pour it into a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl. The loose egg white will drain out. This helps the egg keep its shape.
Step 3. Create a Swirl
Gently stir the hot water to make a slow swirl.
Step 4. Add the Egg
Carefully slide the egg into the center of the water. It will swirl for a second, then settle.
Step 5. Cook
Let it sit for 2–3 minutes. The egg will go from clear to white.
Step 6. Check and Remove
Lift it out and check it. If it’s too jiggly, put it back for a bit longer. Flip it if you want—totally optional.
Step 7. Serve
Remove, plate, and enjoy.
