A Tribute to Jerry Blavat, "the Geator"

Описание: This project started as a tribute mix first broadcast on DJ Korey Oats' WZML radio show and was expanded to 84 minutes when DJ Eric Bartello decided to create a mix compilation based on the music he played with Philly icon and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame DJ/radio personality Jerry Blavat, known to fans worldwide as "The Geator with the Heator". Sadly, the Geator passed away on January 20th, leaving thousands of fans in mourning for their beloved entertainer who transcended the music he played, and physically embodied the youth and spirit of a generation that grew up listening to him on the radio and watching him on TV.
When Eric was asked to fill in for the Geator's events, Mark Baiada asked if he could create some sort of "Geator Mix" with Blavat's actual voice over the music being played, similar to the high-energy, scatological presentation the Geator would give during his live shows. Eric obliged, compiling voice overs taken from hours of recordings and radio shows during his time DJ'ing with the Geator at Live! Casino in South Philadelphia and his own nightclub, Memories in Margate (NJ).
Wanting to share his tribute with the Geator's legion of fans (known collectively as "Yon Teens", "BeYon Teens" and Geatorettes"), Eric took his project one step further and asked them to join in by submitting pictures of themselves with the legendary "Boss With The Hot Sauce". The response was overwhelming and inspiring, as the Geator's loyal followers submitted over 180 pictures to be included in the video.
After more than 30 hours of research, 21 audio tracks with nearly 200 voice over edits, 352 video tracks with over 300 edits and more than 60 total hours of production, this tribute to the Geator is a true Labor of Love.

And to The Geator himself, who gave us more than 60 years of his immeasurable talent, you will always be remembered as we will honor your legacy forever...
