My drill press is old. My grandfather bought it back in the 1950's, long before cranks on the table were common. I raise the table, I had to wrestle the entire thing up to near the height I wanted and quickly tighten the bolt in back to lock it into place before it slid back down.
I also needed some where to keep all of my drill bits and other drills and related items. So I made a cart that fits under the table.
Which gave me a perfect place to put a car scissors jack to use instead of a crank.
