Today’s vlog is all about slow mornings, long walks, and letting the city surprise me — literally!

This morning I woke up early — 7 AM to be exact — and decided to finally do something I had been wanting to do for a while: take a quiet morning walk and go for breakfast at a cafe that’s been on my list forever. Singapore mornings have a charm of their own, and today the sky felt like it was putting on a show just for me — soft light, pastel clouds, and that calm, sleepy stillness that makes exploring feel extra special.

As I stepped out, the city felt like it was waking up with me. Cute narrow lanes, clean streets, and greenery everywhere — Singapore really does everyday beauty effortlessly. Walking with no rush is one of my favourite ways to discover a place, and this morning felt like the perfect reminder of why I love travel: the joy is in the wandering, not just the destination.

My first stop was a cafe called Dearborn — cute, aesthetic, and the kind of place you imagine yourself having a perfect breakfast in. Except… plot twist — it was closed. 😅
But giving up was not an option! On my way back, I spotted a few roosters casually strolling around like they owned the place — truly a hilarious and random Singapore moment. And then came my favourite part — a dog! A fluffy, adorable one that I really wanted to cuddle, but it gave me full attitude and walked away like I wasn’t even worth a tail wag. We’ve all met that dog at least once 😂

Determined to make the morning work, I took a cab to Dearborn’s second outlet — and trust me, it was totally worth it. This one was located in what used to be an old school building, now converted into a beautiful shared space with layered hallways, cafes, and small shops — so unique and honestly such a smart idea. The vibe was relaxed, community-driven, and filled with early risers.

There was a long queue (always a great sign), but we waited, got a table, and finally ordered breakfast.
Here’s what we tried:
• Homemade PB&J
• Iced Matcha
• Overnight soaked oats (you know how obsessed I am by now!)
• Mashed potatoes with bread crumbs

And WOW — the food did not disappoint.
The PB&J was unlike any I’ve ever tried — crunchy, balanced, not overwhelmingly peanut-y, just delicious. The oats were creamy and comforting, and my iced matcha was the perfect early morning drink. But the surprise star of the morning? The mashed potatoes. Soft, buttery, and topped with crunchy bread croutons — we ordered it without expectations and it ended up stealing the show.

The cafe was completely packed even at 8 AM — bustling with people who looked like they had just finished a workout or were starting their day right. We sat at a long community-style table which added to the charm — strangers sharing a space, peaceful chatter, good food, and warm morning light.

Overall, I’d give Dearborn a solid 8.5/10 — and I’d absolutely go again. The food, vibe, and location made the early wake-up totally worth it.

After breakfast, we walked a little more through the neighbourhood, soaking in the slow morning energy before heading back to our hotel.
It was a simple start to the day — but honestly, these are the moments that make travel feel special. The unexpected detours, the food discoveries, the walk, the sky, the city being itself — and you just enjoying it all.
