This week's video is a Chicago tuning (DGBE) lesson on how to play "Sitting Alone" by Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives. This song is from their awesome album that came out this year called, Altitude. Even if you don't really know much about or like country music, but you do like rock and roll, the Byrds, Fender guitars, and great singing and song-writing, I recommend that you check out their recent albums, Way Out West and Altitude. This is country music, but it transcends the genre. Here's a simplified version for tenor guitar you! Learn the cool Kenny Vaughn riff that propels the song forward. A full version (without singing of course) of the song is at the end of the video to practice along with.

The CAGED Approach to Practice and Melody-Chord Arranging
by Todd Montgomery, M.A.
Todd Montgomery’s Tenor Guitar Method presents a systematic introduction to the essential chord shapes and their related arpeggios in GDAE tuning. Using the CAGED chord approach, 5 inversions of the principal major, minor, and dominant 7th chord types are shown. The author examines how these chords relate to each other in keys and encourages muscle memory of the 3 or 4 essential chord tones of each chord inversion.
